Holden Australia's 1976 LX Torana
This LX Torana from Holden Australia get's a facelift and a blown small block Chevy V8.
The Holden Torana was built as a large family car to replace the Holden Kingswood, originally based on the Vauxhall Viva, this the third generation of Torana is based on the Opel Ascona, (Just in case any of our British and European fans think it looks 'a little familiar'
The Torana came in both a 2 door hatch back and the 4 door you see here,
The word 'Torana' comes from the Australian Aboriginal language and it means 'To Fly', perhaps Holden (GMH) was feeling optimistic a the time but certainly the name rings true when you have a small block supercharged Chev in the engine bay.
When angry, this LX Torana turns into the Hulk.
Whats happening and whats cool in the world of custom Street cars
Peter Brock is a legend in Australian Motorsport, Peter Brock has a long successful History racing Holden Torana's at Bathurst.
